Deering Sierra Open Back 5-String Banjo

The Deering Sierra openback banjo is a fantastic openback banjo and is our most popular openback banjos for players who want to play clawhammer banjo but like a brighter, crisper, clearer tone.

If you are a fan of Mark Johnson's Clawgrass style of playing, this banjo is perfect for you. You can also play 3 finger bluegrass style on this banjo with a little less volume (and weight of the banjo) than a standard Deering Sierra banjo with a resonator.
