Played by Tony Trischka

The Saratoga Star is one of the most elegantly beautiful modern banjos to enter the musical arena of classic instruments. Greg Deering personally designed the inlays with an Art Nouveau style in mind. Reminiscent of the Victorian Era, this high grade maple banjo stands out as a top of the line professional instrument, at home on the concert stages throughout the world. It is played by world renowned banjoists like Bela Fleck, 2007 IBMA Banjo Player of the Year - Tony Trischka, Joe Bonsal of the Oak Ridge Boys, and Ned Luberecki.

A Deering Tenbrooks Series banjo. The Tenbrooks series offers a fine, clean, bright sound. Features a maple neck and resonator. Made in USA.

Named for the famed Kentucky Derby winning steed, this instrument is destined to out-distance itself from other great banjos. It may be the most memorable banjo you'll ever own.

Banjo virtuoso Jens Kruger wanted a special tone ring that would enhance the extreme low frequencies that support and complement the banjo's unique construction. Working with the 600-year-old Ruetschi Bell Foundry in Switzerland, Jens and metalurgists developed a tone ring with the evenly-crystalized molecular structure that makes an exceptional sound. Casting this bronze tone ring requires mastery of the maching process and extreme precision. To prevent any loss of the far-reaching tonal spectrum, the tone ring is not plated with gold, silver or nickel. Instead, it's finished to a shimmering, lustrous high polish, and then treated with linseed oil.

Banjo craftsman Greg Deering, inspired by the expertise of his collaborators, designed a special tailpiece and elegant inlay patterns for the Tenbrooks line of banjos. He and Jens Kruger redesigned the flange to a lighter configuration, and even streamlined the armrest.
