The Deering Goodtime Americana is an openback banjo with a wide 12" diameter rim! We love these banjos. The wider rim and renaissance head give the banjo a great big and warm tone. If you want to play old time music, clawhammer banjo, folk music, or just general banjo strumming tunes, this banjo is perfect. 

A standard Goodtime banjo has an 11" rim. With the 12" rim you get more bass response and a fatter, more round tone. This is a great banjo for old time clawhmmer playing.
