The Deering Artisan Goodtime banjos are the brown stained version of the blonde Goodtime banjos and feature a Midnight Maple fingerboard. The Midnight Maple fingerboard is a separate maple fingerboard that is pressure stained so that the stain penetrates all the way through the wood. This will not wear off like other staining processes that just stain the outer coat of the wood.
The Artisan Goodtime banjos also feature more expensive planetary style tuners which give the banjo a traditional look. Lastly, they include 5th string capo spikes at frets 7, 9, and 10 so you can easily use a capo on your banjo to play in different musical keys.
These are made in America at the Deering Banjo shop in Southern California.
