Deering Sierra Plectrum Banjo

1 review
  • Played by Dom Flemmons of the Grammy Award winning band the Carolina Chocolate Drops

This is an incredible plectrum banjo. It has a beautiful low end and all of the notes have a ton of sustain. The mahogany neck gives the banjo a ton of warmth. The harmonic spectrum produced by the Deering -06- tone ring is incredible. I have not heard many plectrum banjos sound this good all the way up the neck. Every note rings clear and full.

It is really hard to put this one down once you start playing it - so beware!

      I recommend this product

      First plectrum

An excellent banjo--just what I was looking for. Very well made with top-of-the-line materials, plenty of volume, brassy but not too bright tone. I never much cared for tenor banjos, so the larger, deeper plectrum suits me much better. And the chords are familiar. Now it's just a matter of getting my flatpicking back into shape . . .
