Consisting of a spun metal sleeve wrapped tightly around a 1/4-inch rolled brass ring sitting atop the wood rim, it delivers a brilliantly balanced acoustic response. You get the crisp snap, mid-range punch, and clear presence that allows individual notes to sing, while completely bypassing the heavy, back-breaking weight of a full tubaphone or bell-bronze tone ring.
