On a recent trip to Deering Banjos, we were in the showroom looking at all the Goodtime Banjos. We loved the look of the bronze hardware on their baseline Goodtime. Right next to it was an Artisan Goodtime Americana with the Nickel hardware. We inquired on the option of swapping out the hardware to give it more a vintage look. Something that we seen players gravitate towards. Our rep, David Vega, suggested we also add in the Fiberskin head and that tied it all together. We are honored to be able to offer this to our customers moving forward. If you are looking for a warmer, deeper tone on a nice banjo, this is your option. If you are looking for a brighter tone, we also offer the standard model with the frosted top head. Either way, we have what you are looking for. If not, please contact us and we can point you into the right direction.
Crafted in America, this 19-fret tenor banjo represents thoughtful instrument design for serious players. The violin-grade maple rim—identical to wood specifications in Deering's professional line—produces a warm, articulate tone with excellent sustain. Midnight Maple fingerboard and warm brown finish provide both aesthetic refinement and visual contrast. Planetary tuning mechanisms offer superior stability during performance and practice. The lightweight maple construction facilitates portability without compromising acoustic properties, while the precisely fretted neck accommodates both technical work and extended playing sessions. An instrument that rewards dedicated practice with responsive playability and tonal depth.
