This tuning, CGDA, is the standard tuning for 4-string tenor banjo. Used primarily by tenor banjoists playing jazz. Most Irish tenor banjoists use the tuning GDAE, although one of the greatest Irish tenor banjo players, Gerry O'Connor, uses this standard tuning.
