We added a stained, curly maple armrest to add comfort, but also add a professional look to the instrument. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt’s a traditionally-inspired instrument with vintage style detail, but Pisgah also wants to modernize certain aspects that will improve the instrument.  The frailing notch is a great improvement that they have on all new banjos.  This opens up the tension hoop near the neck to allow more room for the rhythm hand to move.  A great change for a clawhammer banjo.
